There are few better places to host some fantastic and heartwarming Easter events than by the beach. New Smyrna Beach is in a prime location for family-friendly activities and beach-adorned adventures. There’s plenty to love in the area for an egg-ceptional vacation experience for the warm spring.
Below are three local events that are worth going a bit out of the way for. Ride ponies, meet the Easter bunny, and capture some rewarding eggs hidden in the nooks and crannies of the local beach parks.
New Smyrna Beach Easter Egg Hunt
For the closest Easter egg hunt, and New Smyrna Beach’s only official hunt, come out to Old Fort Park March 31st, noon to 3 p.m. It’s an all-ages adventure of candy, hidden eggs, and music.
The event is absolutely free. Old Fort Park is a famous archeological sight resting right by the inlet. It can be found at 115 Julia St, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168.
The location is also a registered national landmark, with a mysterious past. The site and the nearby water make for a splendid backdrop for the Easter holiday.
The Hippity Hop Adventure
You can take a 45-minute drive to Sanford to visit the Central Florida Zoo for the Easter weekend. On March 31st 2018, the Central Florida Zoo is hosting an incredible event expected to bring in animal lovers of all ages. There’s candy (everywhere) and hidden eggs scattered all about the zoo grounds.
Guests can come for the music under the center park and play area. There’s a meet-and-greet with the Easter bunny and prizes open to those special few who can find the most cherished and treasured Easter eggs.
A bounce house, a games room, and other yet-announced activities will light up the park for the day.
The Central Florida Zoo is located at 3755 NW Hwy 17-92, Sanford, FL, 32771. While children 2 and under are free, general admission is $19.50 and ages 3-12 are $13.75. You can become a passholder and earn $5 admission per person.
Admission gets you access to everything the zoo has to offer for the Easter holiday. Contact 407-323-4450 for more details. The zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The 2018 Santa’s Farm Easter Hunt
The Santa’s Farm Easter Hunt is a bit off the beaten path. To get here, you will have to take a modest drive out to the town of Eustis. But it is worth the 75-minute drive to the town. Santa’s Farm is a collective of holiday activities, games, and adventures.
Guests can ride the ponies and horses at the Happy Trails area. Judy’s Duck Race is a thrilling run with some local farm animal favorites of the duck variety. There’s even a Santa zipline so you can float above the farm and see the action from above.
The event caters to the Easter holiday in a big way. Easter egg hunts are scheduled every 30 minutes. Prizes are given for kids who find 12 eggs and return them to the booth. Other activities include a bounce house, a crazy maze set-up, multiple hayrides, and the Bunny Barrel Tram.
The event is at 35317 Huff Road, Eustis, FL, 32736. Though it is a bit of a drive out of town, it does make for a fantastic and enriching afternoon or day trip. It’s worth it for the scenery, the candy prizes, and the thrilling holiday activities all ages can immerse themselves in.
The event is $14 per adults and $4 for children. It runs from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and it is March 24th and March 25th.
