How to Prepare for the Daytona 500

If you spend most of your day at the Daytona International Speedway, there are a few things you won’t want to forget. The weather may be a little cooler in Florida during February, but you should still wear sun protection. Florida is called the sunshine state for a reason! There is not much shade while watching the race, so make sure to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

With great food and drink options at the Daytona 500, you don’t need to worry about packing lunch (but you can if you want!). Sitting in the bleachers all day can be uncomfortable, bring a seat cushion to ensure maximum comfort while watching the race. Another tip is to bring binoculars, so you don’t miss every detail of this momentous event.

An insider tip to avoid the buzz in Daytona is to stay in New Smyrna Beach for the Daytona 500.
